Duraković Tarik
I was born in Prishtina, Kosovo on January 3, 1980. At the age of 9, I moved with my family to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina where I continued my primary and high school education. I graduated from Faculty of civil engineering at the University of Sarajevo in 2005.
In the first years of my professional career, I was employed in Energoinvest company in Sarajevo. Among several positions held at that time, the most challenging was my assignment in Libya in the period 2006-2007 where I was in charge for supervision of civil works at the construction of large substation – a part of Great Man-Made River Project, the world's largest irrigation project at that time.
For the past seven years I have been working in Public Utility Elektroprivreda BiH, the leading company for generation, distribution and supply of electricity in BiH. I started my work in the company as a project engineer whose responsibility were construction issues in the preparation of the technical documentation. Two years ago I was appointed as a Project manager for preparation activities for construction of Hydropower Plant Vranduk. I was leading a team that has successfully completed its assignments and awarded the contract for construction of HPP.
Although I have been involved even before in procurement procedures of other international financial institutions such as KfW, working on Vranduk project, partially financed by EBRD but completely guided in accordance with EBRD’s Policies and Rules, developed my strong interest in the public procurement management. It gave me the opportunity to improve my skills and knowledge in the field of procurement. My company’s strategy is oriented toward development of new energy facilities from renewable energy sources and therefore our cooperation with EBRD is expected to be expanded in the future. Improvement of my knowledge through this Master Programme will enable me to play important role in the forthcoming projects and to give my personal contribution to the achievement of company’s goals.
Attending to this study will be also an extraordinary opportunity to interact with students from diverse professional and cultural background coming from all the World and I am looking forward to meet them.
