Lamin K. Barrow comes from The Republic of The Gambia, West Africa. He received his   B.A Degree in Development Studies from The University of the Gambia in 2009 and MSc. in International Public Procurement Management from the University of Rome, Tor Vergata, Italy in 2016.
I worked for the Ministry of Education from 2003 to 2009 as a graduate Teacher for Environmental Science and Business Management respectively.
In 2010, I joined the Gambia Public Procurement Authority as an Assistant Compliance Officer, Compliance Officer in 2011 and Senior Compliance Officer in 2013.
In March 2016 I was re-designated as a Senior Training Officer and Acting Head of Department of the Career Development & Training Unit of GPPA.
Presently as a Senior Training Officer and Acting Head of Career Development & Training Department, my responsibilities include providing specialist advice, guidance on leading practice in public procurement to Management and all the procuring Organisations in the country; regularly reviewing standard bidding documents to comply with national obligations and commercial laws using standard international legal models example UNCITRAL, World Bank etc..; supporting the implementation of the public procurement law and guidelines; responsible for the day to day management of the Unit as well as in the implementation of policy guidelines relative to capacity development and improvement; direct and participate in analyzing procurement plans submitted by the Procuring Organisations among other related duties deem vital for the strengthening the Unit in particular and the Organisations as a whole.
