Alumni Association
IMPPM Alumni Association is an Italian non-profit organization created in 2016 by a group of IMPPM Alumni who intended to create a social network to keep in touch with their Master colleagues and to share best practices and ideas on public procurement with procurement professionals coming from many parts of the Globe. As of now, the Association counts 269 Members who have attended the IMPPM Master Program either in Rome or in Belgrade.
The main objectives of the Association are to provide an opportunity for procurement professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills in procurement, which will assist them in personal and professional development, and to foster networking among procurement professionals worldwide.
To this regard, the activities of the Association include the organization of workshops and social events on procurement-related topics.
IMPPM Alumni Association is supported by the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR
MPPM Alumni have always been active in creating a wide social network even before the creation of the Association itself. As a matter of fact, the “First workshop on contemporary issues in procurement practice” organized by IMPPM Alumni was held in London, at EBRD HQ, on 1 October 2015 with the support of EBRD and the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
The Association was officially launched on the occasion of the “Second workshop on contemporary issues in procurement practice” organized on 27-28 September 2016 at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, Serbia, with the support of the EBRD and the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
The University of Rome Tor Vergata organizes in partnership with the abovementioned faculty a twin Master program in Public Procurement. Some Members of our Alumni Association have attended the twin Master Program in Belgrade.
The second workshop was organized on the side of the 3rd Interdisciplinary Symposium on Public Procurement.
On 23-24 October 2018, our Alumni Association has organized the “Third workshop on contemporary issues in procurement practice” with the support of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the EBRD. Also Lear and AISCAT Servizi supported the event. The workshop was held at UNESCO HQ in Paris, France, on the side of the 4th Interdisciplinary Symposium on Public Procurement organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the University Sorbonne of Paris.
All workshops provided for opportunities to discuss and debate important issues faced by procurement officers both at international and national level. The events were free of charge and open to any participant who wished to join. Speakers of the workshops were IMPPM Alumni who submitted the selected papers.
In addition to the abovementioned workshops, IMPPM Alumni Association aims at organizing social events where to informally discuss on procurement-related topics and good practices.
On 7 July 2019 the Association launched its first Working Brunch on “Human Resources Management and Career Development in Public Procurement” on the side of the 4th Global Procurement Conference organized by the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
The Working Brunch was hosted at Casa dell’Aviatore, in Rome. The Association invited Mr. Marco Salzedo, Director of Commercial Capability in the Government's Commercial Function, United Kingdom, to deliver a keynote speech on the topic of the event.
Finally, being one of the main goals of the Alumni Association to always guarantee ways to keep the networking among Members and to have all the Alumni connected, over the past year a new format has been launched: IMPPM Alumni Procurement Talks.
IMPPM Alumni Procurement Talks are short Procurement online events of approximately 1 hour, organized on a regular basis (twice a month), which are open only to Members of the Alumni Association. Members can participate as audience or as a speaker. The speaker will present an issue, a challenge or new ideas in procurement, discussing it with all the Alumni Members which will express their interest to participate in the event.
