Peters Tamara Nicole
Ms. Tamara Nicole Peters is a highly dedicated and accomplished professional at the Water & Sewerage Authority of Trinidad & Tobago (WASA), with more than twenty-one (21) years of service. Her current role as a Project Officer involves crucial administrative support, including preparing business cases, contract management, project accounting and ensuring proper documentation of contracted pipeline projects under the Project Management Office (PMO).
Her pursuit of a Bachelor of Administration degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the Australian Institute of Business (AIB) and a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI), highlights her commitment to overcoming challenges and improving her skills. These qualifications enabled her to contribute significantly to the Procurement and Project Implementation Department, leading to process improvements.
Ms. Peters' achievements include:
- Development of an Inventory Management Policy aligned with the new Public Procurement and Disposal Act of Trinidad & Tobago
- Reengineered contract management processes, which resulted in the recovery of funds for unaccounted materials from contractors
- Reengineered project management processes and proposed policies and procedures for its success. This included a formal process for managing scope changes and dealing with variations
- Devised a project closeout and reconciliation process in collaboration with Project Accounting and the Procurement department, to facilitate a full account of public funds utilized on all contracted projects at close.
Her drive and passion for success have clearly made a positive impact on her organization. Ultimately, Ms. Peters’ personal goal is to gain specialized procurement knowledge to aid her in bridging the gap between Project Procurement and Project Implementation for increasing successful project outcomes. A position Ms. Peters strongly believes would ensure the selection of suitably qualified contractors and suppliers.
Through these achievements, Ms. Peters aspires to take on more senior leadership positions within her organization, where she aims to promote dynamic approaches to larger strategic decisions to benefit the organization and possibly her country at large.
