Metani Finley Horrice Enson

Monitoring and Compliance Enforcement Officer, Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA), Malawi

Born and raised in Malawi, Finley Metani holds a Bachelors Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management from the University of Malawi obtained in 2016. He also holds a Level 4 Diploma  in Purchasing and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) obtained in 2003. He has occupied positions of Chief Stores Officer as well as Chief Procurement Officer at the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, a government parastatal from 2003 and 2007 respectively. He has also worked for Blantyre Water Board, a government utility body from 2018 to 2021. Currently, he is working as a Monitoring and Compliance Enforcement Officer at the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA), a public procurement regulatory institution in Malawi. This means he has a vast experience in public procurement, spanning from 2007 when he was appointed as Chief Procurement Officer at the Malawi Public broadcaster to date as he works for PPDA. His current task at the government procurement regulatory body includes but not limited to conducting procurement prior and post reviews for procurements which have exceeded Procurement and Disposal Entities (PDEs) thresholds, identifying PDEs common compliance challenges and providing solutions for the same. He expects the Master to widen his public procurement knowledge as well as his confidence, knowing it comes with an international touch.
