Ramnarine Melissa
Melissa Ramnarine is a professional with over 17 years of diverse experience in research, policy development, procurement planning, execution and auditing. Melissa’s journey in public procurement began in 2006 at the Ministry of Finance, Investments Division, where she actively contributed to procurement reform efforts and the implementation of electronic reverse auctions in the State Enterprise Sector. Subsequently, Melissa served as the Procurement Specialist for approximately five-years at the Ministry of Planning and Development, for an Inter-American Development Bank funded initiative.
In her current role as a Senior Capacity Development Specialist at the Office of Procurement Regulation, the corporate body responsible for providing oversight over public procurement in Trinidad and Tobago, Melissa supports capacity building interventions and projects geared towards professionalizing public procurement in her country.
Melissa is committed to advancing her career and academic pursuits in public procurement. She possesses a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, the Certified Internal Auditor designation and a Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. Currently, she is enrolled in the International Master in Public Procurement Management at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where she eagerly anticipates further expanding her knowledge base through formal lectures and collaboration with her peers.
