Marijanovic Dina

Croatia

Head of Service, Quality Assurance Directorate, Central Finance and Contracting Agency in Zagreb, Croatia
My name is Dina Marijanović and I come from Croatia. I graduated from Faculty of Economics at the University of J.J. Strossmayer in Osijek, Croatia and have postgraduate degree in International Relations and European Studies from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary.
More than 6 years I have been developing my career in the field of procurement of service, supply and works projects at Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA), public institution responsible for the implementation of EU pre-accession programs in Croatia (IPA I and Transition Facility). Furthermore, CFCA performs the role of Intermediary Body Level 2 within the management and utilization system of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) which includes conducting verifications of expenditures in relation to public procurement of grant beneficiaries.
Working within Quality Assurance Directorate, first as Quality Assurance Officer and currently as Head of one of the Services, provided me with experience and understanding of principles of procurement. Some of my responsibilities include quality control of public procurement documents (tendering, contracting and contract implementation documentation) and ensuring that the documentation is prepared in accordance with the provisions and procedures defined for implementation of the IPA program and ESIF (namely National Public Procurement Act and PRAG) for procurements for which CFCA is Contracting Authority, as well as ex-ante and ex-post verification of public procurement documentation of Grant Beneficiaries under ESIF.
What I have found unique and appealing in the Master program is that lecturers are experts in public procurement field as well as that students must have previous experience in public procurement. I am very much looking forward to enhance my knowledge and work experience by getting an insight into the best practices in procurement management, which would deepen my practical understanding of the current public procurement challenges and opportunities globally.
