Daniel Morris is a senior adviser at the Danish Institute for Human Rights. He has an academic background in law and human rights.
He works to support states, national human rights institutions and other relevant stakeholders to integrate human rights in public procurement.
He authored the Toolkit ‘Driving change through public procurement: A toolkit on human rights for policy makers and public buyers’ which provides practical advice to public buyers and policy makers to implement human rights and public procurement in practice.
He works at the national level to support states and public buyers implement human rights protections in day-to-day procurements, including in Kenya through a review of the legal framework governing human rights and public procurement.
He has worked with the UN to develop a Framework to Address Human Trafficking and Forced Labour in UN Supply Chains.
He engages with international and regional policy level development agencies, to ensure that the social element in SDG indicator 12.7.1 on sustainable public procurement reflects international human rights standards."
