Prof. Michael Essig holds the Chair for Purchasing and Supply Management at Bundeswehr University Munich. He is Director of the Working Area Procurement including the Research Group for Law and Management of Public Procurement, the Defence Acquisition and Supply Management (DASM) Research Group as well as the Audi Procurement Research Group. His publications include more than 350 papers and books in the field of purchasing and supply management (amongst others in the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, the Journal of Cleaner Production, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, and Management Review Quartely). Additionally, he serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management as well as the Journal of Public Procurement. His consulting experience includes major industrial and public buying institutions like Audi, the Ministry of Defence, or the Purchasing Office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.
